Artist's Description

My preference for geometric shapes and lines in my images are often referred to, which provide direction and create power blocks for the viewer eye to focus attention on, thus hopefully creating impact

I am keen on a balanced tonal range, but particularly proportioned. Strong attention is paid to providing block of highlights (usually a window) along with sufficient mid-tone greys; and spiced by sinewy sinister shadow areas; to create that special feeling

Hint: the key to long shadows is ensuring the light source comes from a low point of view; and of course if you position yourself as low, or even lower, then this can be enhanced further

Location: Ballycopeland Windmill Interior
Millisle
County Down
Northern Ireland

Nikon Coolpix 5000

For the reasons mentioned above I regard this as one of my most favourite images
