Artist's Description

The lights of the Hungarian Parliament Building reflected in the Danube River in Budapest.

Construction began on the building in 1885 and completed in 1904. During construction of the building, Imre Steindl, the architect, went blind and died in 1902.

Today this neo-gothic work of art is still the largest building in Hungary, the tallest in Budapest and is the third largest parliament building in the world. The building features 691 rooms and 20 kilometres of stairs.
