What’s your idea of magic?
Perhaps a rabbit pulled from a hat,
A card trick which leaves you mesmerised
Or a hypnosis which knocks you flat.
To me it’s all around
We see it every day,
If eyes are opened to the various forms
You too will see it in some way.
See, to me magic is love
In whichever way it takes its shape,
It’s much deeper than an illusion
Or a magician in his cape.
Your first love is one to cherish
For things are lost and found,
Those sweet teenage memories would differ
If that person hadn’t been around.
Old love is when we see
An ancient couple cross the street,
They link arms and adore each other
Whilst we wonder ‘how did they meet?’
Then love can fool us in the form
In that of passion a lust,
Full of heated rows and steamy make-ups
A relationship broken down by lack of trust.
Then there’s love of mother and child
A vow made straight after birth,
To give her child the best start in life
And protect him for all her worth.
Then there’s the companionship of a friend
Which is full of ups and downs,
There’s the talks of mutual understanding
And moments of deep frowns.
And then there is the addictive love,
We stand by people who deserve a throttle,
The girl who’s too infactuated with some cheating bastard
Or the man who falls victim to the bottle.
Love shows itself in different ways
And sometimes endings can be tragic,
But to find a soulmate to spend your life with
Now that’s what I call magic.
Just remember the journey can be hard
But no doubt it is worth the wait,
Just do it openly with all your heart
For the rest is up to fate.
