The Candy Colored Chronicles; Part Three: Silver Tears

A kingdom of magic lay at his feet,
Even the rain fell at his command,
But as he walked through purple marshes,
The loneliness began to nibble at his heart.

His eyes were puddles of chocolate,
Hidden behind the curtain of dark hair,
Where no one could dare get near enough to him,
To see his cracking smile.

As he reached the edge of a small pond,
He fell shamelessly to his knees,
The hole in his chest would only grow bigger,
As his ice dagger desperately tried to re-construct the damage.

“It is no use, I’ve lost myself,” he cried,
His tears streamed silver into the water,
Carving small ripples into his miserable reflection,
And the voice he could not escape.

Whilst he tried to protect himself from the pain of betrayal,
Deep inside of himself he found the truth,
And the Quiet Prince wept uncontrollably,
With no power to call his own.

Artist's Description

I wrote this awhile ago, but have only just now taken in from my laptop.
This is the third part of the series, diving into the Quiet Prince’s misery.
Strangely enough he is actually based on a certain person in my life.
My heart aches for this piece.
