The Observer

Eyes that watch and probe
we are judged beneath the microscope
our book of flaws is open wide
some will stumble, other falls.

The sheep cower together
and share all the same thoughts
break apart the black ones
driving them deeper into the ground.

I am the observer
I analyse the things I see
the quiet girl that blends in
and shocks you with the words she speaks.

Musicians are my people
the ones I take to best
creating magic with their fingers
and stories through their words.

The year begins once again and
we are divided to the places we fit
as for me, I’ll not change my ways
the puzzle piece that never sticks.

Artist's Description

The first of three poems I’ll be submitting every Sunday. I wrote this in first period Science, from the angle I see my peers at school. As most of my friends Seniors or have already graduated, I don’t socialize well with the kids my age. In truth, I am the observer.
