This shot of the Hayes Covered Bridge was captured with a Canon EOS 5D camera, through a Canon EF 17-40mm f/4L lens at the 40mm focal length. The aperture was f/8 with a 1/80th second expoaure. A Manfrotto tripod and “pistol grip” head were used with a remote shutter release cable.

The Hayes Bridge was built in 1882 to span Buffalo Creek on Hoover Road, two miles west of Mifflinburg, Pennsylvania, USA. The bridge was officially listed on the United States National Register of Historic Places on February 8, 1980 (WGN #38-60-02).

The Hayes Covered Bridge is maintained by the Union County Commissioners from Lewisburg, PA. The structure is in good condition and it accommodates a considerable amount of daily traffic. This old Pennsylvania bridge connects two farms.
