The sun was disappearing over the ridge as the shadows were quickly spreading across the lake. Sunlight was still shining brightly on the mountainside, allowing the fall leaves in the distance to show all of their prettiest colors.
This is the western shoreline of Rose Valley Lake in Gamble Township, north central Pennsylvania, USA. Rose Valley is 5 miles east of the community of Trout Run. PA.
This photo was taken on October 23rd, 2010. It was shot with a Canon EOS 10D using a Canon EF 35-350mm f/3.5-5.6L zoom lens set to 65mm. The shutter speed was 1/30th sec. at f/9.5. The camera’s ISO was set to 100. A Manfrotto, tripod was used with a Manfrotto 222 head, a remote shutter release cable eliminated any chance of unwanted camera shake.
