Giants' Stand

I have been out in the Land amidst the oil Giants’ stand,
The Intensive Activity and the Expensive Ambiguity,
Not for muscles weak lest men break and their blood leak,
While upon the ground the mega machine rumbles paying no regards to men’s cries or how he indeed crumbles,
All obstacles denied any withstanding,
Energy resources bubbling up towards ground landing,
Men hard working in danger no time for a song,
Watching and gaging with eyes open for something that may have gone wrong,
Arms waving hand signs and eye contact keeping men alive,
Deadly H2S 15 parts per million and surely you will not survive,
A time to run, the Machines never stop, and a time to RUN!
When it all rumbles towards a crash and pressures decide to POP
And so that’s how big dollars are made “By the minute” they say,
Just ask anyone in Fort Mac’ Alberta on any average day,
Wages paid in full double and triple time,
Boring Black Gold, Fossil-Fuel slime.
