Artist's Description

Cabot Tower is Located at the highest point of Signal Hill, overlooking the Atlantic Ocean and the City of St. John’s in the Province of Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada. The tower is an example of late-Gothic Revival style, and built of irregularly coursed red sandstone. It is composed of a two storey, 30 foot, square structure with a three storey, 50 foot octagonal tower that stands on the southeast corner of the building.

Signal Hill also overlooks the Cty of St. John’s and its harbour. It is one of Canada’s National Historic Sites. Due to its strategic location overlooking the harbour, fortifications have been placed on the hill since the mid 17th century.

On the day that I took this image (just last week), it was a very cold and windy day. The snow in the image is from a snow storm that hit the city the day before.

Hope you like this image.
