Artist's Description

This image is of the Colorado River and Marble Canyon (also known to the locals as Glen Canyon).

This image was taken from the Navajo Bridge (the pedestrian section, which is the one on the right looking at my image titled “Crossing Over”), and is the one leading north towards Utah and the mother of all Vermillion Cliffs. I took this standing in the middle of the Navajo Bridge from a height of about 470 ft above the river looking east (I tried not to puke while dangling my body over the railing; those bungee jumpers would have been really upset with me).

The image was also captured just about 2:00 pm. I mention this because I was told by one of the frequent visitors to this area that if I waited another hour or so, the light would totally change and the canyon walls would glow in vibrant colours. I just had to wait (hence the next image).

Hope you like this one.
