I am an amateur photographer from North East Pennsylvania, armed with an Olympus E-520 and a variety of lenses including a 35mm Macro...

When I was a kid, my Dad and his dad (my Grandfather) would sit around my Gran-dad’s table, and talk for hours; their main subject was always photography. They would talk about cameras, lenses, shots each of them captured on their wanderings.

As a teenager, I had a desire to learn more, and got my first camera from my Grandfather. Unfortunately, back then, times were tough and work took priority, and photography was left behind once again.

Now as an adult, with significantly more funds available, and the leaps and bounds in digital photography have made it possible to pick up my hobby once again.

I started with a simple Sony Cybershot 6mp camera with a macro setting, but eventually my father was able to convince me to invest in the camera that he used – an Olympus E-520.

Unfortunately, I didn’t have much time to learn from my dad before he passed away in May of 2010, but I think that a love for photography was his greatest gift to his three children. We now all have DSLRs, and enjoy sharing lenses, books, tips, and picture taking walks – just what I think dad had in mind.
