Night Beauty

I am not deformed by lack of light

Silently, I devour the night
I am an unusual beauty, a silent brave
I lay down my paradoxes beside a grave

For I am a dead beauty
They’re in awe, yet they do not want to see
My thorns touch the sleeping grass
Shadows creep, a silent mass
Of darkness in its purest form
Darkness from which I was born

Do not fear me, I am misunderstood
Do not hate me, even though you should
I know neither good nor evil
My stalk is a moral upheaval
With no roots nor ground for support
No memory…
No idea..
No thought…

You walk past me and take pity
I am innocent and there for all to see
The soft under-belly of the underworld
I am alive even after being killed

The sky is dark for the ready to die
Grey matches the mood as I see it cry
The moistness of pain nourishes me
I grow from the darkness…only you can see….
