Artist's Description

Located in beautiful West Chester, Pennsylvania, and built in the 1800’s, this charming old mill is now Strode’s Art Gallery. Behind it runs a beautiful small stream that powered the mill. Old mills are scattered all over Chester County.

Interestingly enough my maternal Grandmother’s middle name was Strode and she grew up in West Chester. Across the street are the ruins of the Strode’s Sausage and Scrapple building. Chester County was one of three counties originally founded in 1682 by William Penn.

It’s a pleasure to see so many buildings that have been lovingly restored, such as this old mill. This photograph was taken with a Canon 40D, equipped with an 18-200mm lens and has been slightly modified with a watercolor effect.
