Artist's Description

Sometimes, you feel as if the weight of the world is pressing down upon you as you struggle through the day. Sometimes you feel no matter how hard you fight you cannot escape it’s grasp. You feel as if there’s some invisible force weighing you down or impeding your progress.

This series is an attempt to capture this feeling with nothing more than simple wooden models. It is an attempt to make a statement about how the way we carry ourselves belies the issues we wrestle on a day to day basis.

I hope you enjoy!

Technical Information:
Canon EOS 30d with a 50mm f/1.8 freehand @ f/5 ISO 125 @ 1/250.
One vivitar 285hv @ 1/16 power diffused through a wide angle diffuser and a beige cloth behind camera left. One fluorescent light fixture pointed at the subject from camera right. I purposely shot in front of a drape for a simple background.

Processing:
Shot in RAW format and processed in Adobe Camera Raw 4.5 and Photoshop CS3extended. Then I adjusted the hues with a layer or two and the curves tool and that’s it. :)
