Artist's Description

These children’s shoes were left behind in an abandoned factory in CT to meet the same fate as the building, dust caked neglect. The shoes are strewn about as if to signify there was no time for even something as necessary as shoes to be thought about when things were packed up. The feather suggests, in time, we all float on by.

Disney recently filmed in this factory. It also used to house an active art community. Quite extensive from what I heard, every type of art you could imagine from music to sculptures to graffiti. Now the building has been sold and it will be hastily transformed into condos like so many other amazing structures. Most likely the change will happen with no regard to art, history or culture.

Money…

Shot on the EOS 30D with the “Thrifty 50” my 50mm 1.8 at an Abandoned Textile Mill in Connecticut.

Tech: f/1.8 ISO 160 shot in raw format
