Artist's Description

Calvia quatuordecimguttata, Cream-spot ladybird on the photogtrapher’s hand Very small ladybird that is easily overlooked with maroon to brown wings with fourteen white or cream spots. The head is dark in maturity and the legs are reddish. It can be confused with a 14-spot ladybird except the head is very dark and spot patterns are different. Found around deciduous trees where there is leaf clutter. Discovered in verge of street among sweet violets near oaks. Jinonice Prague 5
