Caught Up

I think that sometimes in life,
We just get so caught up.

We lose sight of things that matter,
Don’t enjoy the smaller stuff.

When was the last time,
You said “I love you”?

What if those you care for,
Are gone before you do?

Do you ever just enjoy,
The fact that you’re alive today?

When so many lose their chance,
To see their fifth birthday.

When you wake up in the morning,
And your feet first touch the floor..

Do you think of those in wheelchairs,
Who can’t do that anymore?

When you hear a babies cry,
Do you wish it would go away?

Some people would give anything,
To enjoy sound, for just one day.

When the sun glares in your eyes,
Do you complain about the light?

Or do you stop and wonder,
What life would be like without sight?

Do you savour every bite,
When you sit down to eat a meal?

While so many go on hungry,
Can you imagine how it feels?

When someone makes you feel good,
Do you let them know they do?

It is really just so simple,
To say the words " thank you".

As your lips meet someone elses,
Does the world around you freeze?

Or is it just a kiss to you?
Someone more deserving would be pleased.

Fifty years down the road,
When you look back on life..

Do you think that you’ll be satisfied,
Or wish you’d done things right?

The glass is always half full,
Appreciate what you’ve got.

See those you love for what they are,
And not for what they’re not.

Be proud of who you are,
Dont let the bad outweigh the good.

Remember, there’s always someone out there,
Who would trade places if they could…
