Artist's Description

Softly it Glimmers

It started as a flicker
A glimpse of expression
A rising impulse
Cresting like a wave

And so the writing flowed
Each word a discovered sea-shell
Forming a necklace of prose
Circling the heart

Shapes and colours of meaning
Brush against the silent page
The currents of creativity
An eternal rhythm

Much the same as the first
Yet always different
Feeling and expression forming a tryst
Of intimate connection

And so it continues
Like a love that cannot be let go
And like a mist in a world hidden
Softly it glimmers

This has been entered into the “If my poems could fly” challenge launched by Poetry and Beautiful Women. The challenge is to write a poem about why i first started writing and why I continue.
