UPON THE LANGUAGE OF LIFE

Poetry is the language of Life,
the way trees would sing
if they had human voices,
the sound of a stone’s silent soul,
the words of wind and waves,
the laughter of great whales
and snicker of herring.
Wake up your imagination
and let it fly without restraint;
why not eat the cookie of the moon?
Why not lick a lollipop of sun?
Connect to one tree in silence
until the silence sings;
stare at the sky until your body opens
and you drink its freedom.
Through the silence words will come,
painting your deep mind with Life’s colors.
