Artist's Description

A human being is a part of the whole called by us universe, a part limited in time and space. He experiences himself, his thoughts and feeling as something separated from the rest, a kind of optical delusion of his consciousness. This delusion is a kind of prison for us, restricting us to our personal desires and to affection for a few persons nearest to us. Our task must be to free ourselves from this prison by widening our circle of compassion to embrace all living creatures and the whole of nature in its beauty.
~Albert Einstein

A very small wild rose growing in the Bashakill Wetlands, New York, USA. What captured my eye was the dragonfly hanging from the leaves. I still can not figure whether this dragonfly was captured in a web and perished, as there is a string of web present, or whether this was the original shell of the dragonfly before it hatched. Life and death seem to be only a thin line apart in all of life…both with nature and mankind.
This image was photographed on super-macro mode to gather the total essence of the scene.
