RedBubble - Almost Week 2
Firstly, Peter, Xavier or Mark should probably be writing this as I am not inside the Bubble as much as they are (with other things pressing in on me). I guess I am writing it as I would like to be there more!
Anyway, as you all can see there is a lot of a great activity on the site. We have been really pleased with the quality of the work that has been added. It appears that there is a real need for the service of RedBubble – a high quality environment to display work and also to get it printed.
As one measure of the quality of the work, there have already been quite a few sales with almost 15% of people who have something for sale, having sold something in the first week. While I don’t think sales are the most important thing (the community is) they are necessary as they mean we can keep the site free of advertising (which we all hate) and also so that artists can be rewarded for their efforts. People who have bought have remarked how delighted they are with the quality of the prints and the framing. So thanks a lot to our partner at Horsham Colour
Personally, it has been just wonderful to see so much truly inspirational, moving, funny, intense, perverse, bizarre, bewildering and beautiful work. Just engaging with the work and the artists has been an immensely rewarding experience. It has also been wonderful to read your comments and journal entries and to see how supportive you are of each other and what we are all trying to do. As you would guess being in the office is also fun. There is a real buzz and sense of purpose to continue to build the site for the entire community. Your feedback on what you want is vital so do let us know.
I guess that’s about it for now. Keep on bubbling.
Journal Comments
We look forward to Red Bubble enabling us to use the wonderful images that our great artists keep adding in the many different ways suggested, as well as of course the excellent framed prints we can purchase.
I just look forward to selling a heap of photo’s and making me a huge pile o’ cash.
Nah seriously, it’s been great. Looking forward to the bubble growing and growing and meeting more peeps.
Good work guys.
Yeah, I totally agree, a place to put up your work is good. we don’t need no advertisers. And I’m glad that I’m part of this community. keep up the good work guys!!!
Thankyou Pilgrim for this site and for voting for me. The painting Departure is special and there is a bit of a nice story to it mabe too long to mention here. I may slot into my journal for all to read. Had a bushfire here couple days so havent had time to write sooner. Keep up the good work with the site. Cheers Jenny
