If we could speak,
To all our girls,
As they step foot,
Into this world.
There’s lessons,
We could pass along.
Of things done right,
And things done wrong.
Give yourself love,
Cause there are plenty,
Of people who won’t,
Give you any.
Be good to you,
And treat you kindly,
Don’t just follow,
Someone blindly.
Trust your heart,
To know what’s right,
Trust your soul,
It is your light.
You are unique,
Unlike the rest.
And only you,
Do “you” the best.
There is no size,
That you should be.
A 22, a 12 or 3.
Dark hair, light hair,
Short or tall,
You are unique,
So love it all.
Support your sisters,
In this world.
Inside wer’e still just,
Little girls.

Artist's Description

I spent so many years trying to be what I thought would make me happy. Not until my adulthood did I realize that I had to be happy first and appreciate me for me. I am goofy and quirky and frustratingly optimistic. I always tell my daughters friends when they complain about their feet or their weight or their hair, to apprecaite you and your uniqueness! There are plenty of people who would be more than happy to knock you down and tell you that you aren’t good enough. Why would you agree with them? Treat yourself like you would your best friend; with kindness.
