Our Road Through 'Life'

I chose this road so often traveled.
Laid ’fore my feet like time unraveled.

What lies beyond?
What would i see?
Adventure,
Wrapped in mystery!

You walked a road,
T’was close to mine.
Our paths continued to unwind.
They crissed and crossed,
They intertwined.

And then somewhere,
Our roads combined.
Our journey became one,
Not two.

You leaned on me…
I leaned on you.

Outside a town,
Met a man and wife.
Said, "Welcome, travelers!
You’re entering ‘Life’.

Enjoy your journey through our town.
Remember,
It has ups and downs.

Hills to climb and valleys too.
Rainy days, and skies so blue.
But if you travel with a friend.
You’ll wish the journey never ends!"

Sometimes we tired and had to rest.
But we always tried our best.
To help each other along the way.
Through darkest nights and sunny days.

We walked so long,
This path together.
It seemed you’d been there for forever.

The days grew short.
And we grew old.
Our love grew strong.
Our story told.

And hand in hand,
Through joy and strife.
We passed on through.
This place called ‘Life’.
