Artist's Description

This is a scene down on front street of historical Natchitoches, Louisiana, USA. The area was founded in 1714 by Louis Juchereau de St. Denis and was named after the Natchitoches Indian tribe. Incorporated on Feb 5th, 1819 it is the oldest permanent settlement of the Louisiana purchase. Besides all the wonderful history in the town, it is famous for the brick streets and wonderful old iron work, as seen in this shot. At Christmas time Natchitoches comes alive with its historical celebration and fanfare.
