Artist's Description

This image was shot from Newcastle Baths using a Nikon D70S camera and Sigma 50-500 mm lens on tripod in the early morning light. The image takes in the cliffs at the southern end of Newcastle Beach. You can follow the white fence up the line of road to the Bogey Hole, up to the lookout at the top of King Edward Park and the view is over looked by the WWII Radar Bunkers on Shepherd’s Hill. The name is said to have come from Lt-Col. Paterson’s 1801 survey report, in which he named this high point Sheep Pasture Hill after it reminded him of England.
