Artist's Description

I knew Deb Gillett when she was growing up. She was a beautiful, dreamy child with a wonderful warm spirit, and tiny touch of rebellion, and she certainly captivated me. I found this pencil sketch of her in an old Invicta brand cartridge paper sketchbook from the 1970’s. Being that long ago I can’t remember which pencils I used, but judging by the smudging and my preferences it would have probably been 4B graphite. I would never have known then I would come across her in the future on Red Bubble; that she would now be the beautiful woman she is ( though I probably could have guessed that ), nor that she would be one of Australia’s finest Artists, showing in some of the finest Galleries, and one of the very tiny percent of Artists actually able to make a living from their Art. This tiny quick sketch doesn’t do her justice, but it is a little piece of history, and fills me with fond memories. All the best for your exciting future Deb
