This is in India Ink; executed fairly quickly on standard 190 gsm ( grams per square meter ) watercolour paper. The size of the work is 50 cm x 70 cm ( a full sheet ), and as I was working quickly, and there was a lot of dry brush work ( with a Number 2 Hog Bristle ) in an attempt to capture movement, I did not stretch the paper, so I used the lightest grade of paper knowing the work would not buckle. I would normally do a work this size on heavier paper, but as this one is so simple there was no need. I learned very early to use the most suitable paper, but this one is lightly textured, and as I was doing a series, and some may not have turned out, I used the thinnest and cheapest of my stock. I believe I’ve captured some movement. I was pleased with the result.
