Artist's Description

This painting is heavily influenced by Arthur Boyds work (in particular “Nude Washing in Creek #3” 1961). The second influence for this is an old housemate who tatooed his face to ensure his resolve wouldn’t weaken, and cause him to join society. He (Jason) had a plan to teach people how to live off the land (eg kill a kangaroo and waste no part of the animal).
Thus the kanga is not unhappy as it knows its death is not in vain.
