Artist's Description

Photographed on the clifftops near Polzeath in Cornwall. The Kestrel (Falco tinnunculus) is a common bird of prey often seen hovering above motorway verges looking for voles and mice. I had seen this one hovering over the cliffs and eventually it caught something and settled for a while. I was able to stalk it and get close enough to take this photograph without disturbing it.
