The Mackinac Bridge is the longest suspension bridge in the western hemisphere, with a total length of 26,372 feet. Spanning the Straits of Mackinac from St. Ignace to Mackinaw City, it connects Michigan’s upper and lower peninsulas and opened fro traffic in 1957.
