This is the Hillsgrove Covered bridge. The bridge was just repaired after hurricanes Irene and Lee caused alot of destruction on it. It is expected to open to traffic once again perhaps tomorrow, 11-19-12.
We have followed the destruction of the hurricanes from here in Tasmania. How sad it is to know of the destruction ~ the incredibles ense of loss to families ~ to individuals. It is wonderful to see the renewal of infastructure (hmm ~ spelt wrongly I am sure). A well taken image and what great news of the re-opening!!!
Thank you Sharon. It is wonderful news to have it open and yes, hurricanes are so destructive. Especially when a life is lost. I’m glad this story has a happy ending though.
Great POV, love the winter scene
Thanks. I don’t know that I can go so far as to say I love the winter scene but it’s all that is available right now so I’ll take it. I think it would have been better if we would have had snow. (I’ll go back and get a REAL winter scene when that happens.)
Love covered bridges, you do not say where this one is?
This is the same bridge. The Hillsgrove Covered Bridge. It is taken from a different angle. And from the opposite side as the “reflection” one. I will put that in the description though.
Excellent work Pen..the bridges of Madison County :-)
Gorgeous new shot of the restored bridge, Penny! It looks wonderful!
Thanks Gene, the cars have been traveling over it all day long today. :o)
