Artist's Description

If you were among those of us terrified to go into the water after the movie Jaws in 1975, then seeing a reminder of it daily by the “Chappy” ferry on Martha’s Vineyard Island can still spook you out. The town and some of its beaches were used as the location, especially these red, white and blue cabanas along the Edgartown Harbor shoreline. !975 was my first year as a vacationer on the island, leading to a thirty four year love affair of the place, notwithstanding this pretty scary kick off. Each time I’m in the water here, I can still hear the film’s musical sound track, and swear I see a large fin gliding directly toward me, as I kick my way to shore.
