In the Mayan jungle of the Yucatan, Mexico, stands a magnificent temple to the Mayan ,circa 600 AD, and still standing majestically in the midst of the wild.

The Myans knew how to buld beautiful buildings. I imagine like some of the Puebelo Indians the temple complex must have an almost religious atmosphere.
thanks andrew, and yes, nuch like things in movies and books, this was a holy place with sacrifices etc. there are also cenotes which are huge deep pits filled with water that sacrificial offerings were made by tossing someone in to drown, phil
