Artist's Description

This green monkey sat and watched as we mounted our safari vehicles for a day on the Serengeti, in Tanzania, Africa. Chlorocebus Sabaeus, as they may be called are simian creatures with similarities to humans. Their cells are used for making smallpox and polio vaccines, and they can carry the AIDS virus, although they themselves never develop the disease.
Their coats can vary from sandy colored to light yellow to green tinted, but their hands and face are black. They prefer flowers and fruits as a diet, but they will consume birds, small rodents, birds’ eggs, lizards and such.
