Camera story

I remember… my first camera.
I was 11 years. It was one of the gifts for my first communion …
A first communion not close at all on the religious faith, but more photographic …

The camera, that I always had with me, forgot … lost ? I don’t know …

I took one day in my hands, when I met this poem of Eluard: “Eye of the deaf” – Oeil de Sourd … I take that poem as a kind of signature …
I wanted to write it somewhere, to conserve but other than on paper … and after having painted this little Kodak Instamatic camera in gold, I wrote this poem on the camera itself.

I wanted to make a souvenir photo … I would want …

Here is the poem in French, I don’t know if it was translated and knowing my disastrous English, I can’t unlikely to translate.
It is part of the collection: “Capital of pain”.

Oeil de sourd

Faites mon portait.

Eye of a deaf person

Make my portrait.
It will change to fill all the vacuums.
Make my portrait without noise, only silence,
Unless – if – except – I do not hear you.
It’s the matter, it’s not the matter.
I would like to resemble
Annoying coincidence, among other big businesses.
Without tiredness,
heads tied with the hands of my activity
