Photo of the Year 2011!

I am absolutely thrilled that my photos below came 1st and 2nd respectively in the Photo of the Year 2011 awards at my camera club (Port Adelaide CC) last night!

It’s such a huge honour and I’m smiling from ear to ear! :)

I am a little bit excited to say that I have received an email from Getty Images and have been invited to join their stock photography program.

They have selected 45 of my photos to be licenced for commercial use.

For those who have some experience with the Getty stock imaging process, I’d appreciate your input! Thankyou :)

Royal Adelaide Show Photographic Competition

This year was the first time I have entered the Royal Show Photographic competition and I was absolutely thrilled when I opened my mail last night.…

I had 9 acceptances, 2 x Second Place (small print), 1 x Third Place (small print), 3 x Merits and I won the Bowden Group Prize for the exhibitor with the most acceptances in the Small Print section!!!!!!

I’d like to thank the judges and the volunteers who helped with the judging. There were over 1300 entries and it must have been a massive and exhaustive job.

I’ve bought my ticket for the show and cant wait to see my and my friends works hanging on the wall :)

Old Tailem Town photo walk

The info from my Facebook page:

“Redbubble Photo Walk, Sunday, August 14 · 10:00am – 1:00pm
An idea was formed on Redbubble – let’s get together and visit Old Tailem Town for a photo walk.

I’ve never been and, although it will be a bit of a drive, it would make a great day out. Why not get a few of your friends together and car pool!

The entry fee is $20 per person.

The park opens at 10am and closes at 5pm.

There are over a hundred and ten buildings including shops, hospital, school, homes etc, all furnished within their periods in their most natural locations.

I’ve just come across this ‘great new game’ on Facebook and I am more than a little concerned and thought I would make those of you who use Flickr aware….…

this is what I saw on FB today:

“1 – Go to wikipedia and hit random. The first random wikipedia article you get is the name of your band.
2 – Go to quotationspage.com and hit random. The last four or five words of the very last quote of the page is the title of your first album.
3 – Go to flickr and click on “explore the last seven days”. …Third picture no matter ……what it is, will be your album cover.
4 – Use photoshop or similar (picnik.com is a free online photo editor) to put it all together.
5 – Post it with this text in the “caption” and TAG the friends you want to join in….."
