Artist's Description

Up until about 2008 quite a few towns in Louisiana had their own K-12 school system often housing all 12 grades on the same campus. The problem was that most of these towns had populations of 1,500 people and larger. It was not unusual to find a graduating class of less than 15 people. The Feds came along and told them that this was highly inefficient and they would lose funding if they didn’t consolidate and become more efficient. So the locals complied. This resulted in abandoned stadiums like this one. In their final season this school had 16 players four of which were seniors. The rest were underclassmen including sophomores and freshmen. There is very little more sad or creepy to see an abandoned stadium in the morning fog.
