Artist's Description

Old St. David’s Church (c. 1770) in Cheraw, South Carolina.
The last Anglican church built in South Carolina under King George III. During the Revolunary War, the church was used by both American and British troops and later during the American Civil War, by both Union and Confederate troops. Solders from every American War are buried in the cemetery. The steeple and vestibule were added in 1826.
