Another Late Night

It’s been two days of intense work on the cookie shots. The experiment kept expanding and the ideas started flowing. Odd bits of information from years of experience in all the stages of the project came back to me and made the work more cohesive. It’s time for a break from cookies. Next, I want to shoot Champagne and chocolates! And I’m going to mold the chocolates myself. This project has given me new respect for the photography in Gourmet and Bon Apetite. Before Photoshop, the amount of work involved in a simple shoot must have been horrendous. The food must be almost perfect, especially the baked goods. No distracting or unappetizing flaws can be left on the food. The airbrushing alone must have taken hours. Even now the shoots must take a battalion of people to prepare. The cooking, the styling, the shooting, and the post processing must be extremely labor intensive.

I’m fighting sleep again tonight. Not from stress, but just because I hate to turn my mind off and give in to sleep. There are just way too many fascinating things to learn and do.
