It was raining in the morning. Wake at 5.30am and considering to be out taking picture or not, lying on the warm hotel bed at Philip Island. After 5 mins, I decided to load my gears and try my luck.

During the way to this Rocky Pinnacle, you need to climb a few rocks and pass through some waters. However, it’s not dangerous. I was thinking what will happen if the tide turns high as I will be left in the middle of the sea :). Fall a few times as the rocks were very slippery due to rains and waves.

When I reached this destination, the rain stopped, sun rising, and therefore, the rainbow!

Camera: Nikon D300s
Lens: 10-24mm wide angle
Focal length: 12mm
Aperture: F22
Shutter: 3sec
ISO: 100
Exposure: manual

Filters used: 1 Polarizer and 1 ND8.

Treatment: This is an HDR using Ptotomatix Pro 2 with 5 images at 0.3 EV step size. The rainbow becomes obvious after HDR process as the camera capture it’s best at low exposure.

At first, I wish to see the pinky skies, but unfortunately, due to the delay, I could only get this orange skies :). Hope you like it.
