in the glorious Vendée (SW France) are many beautiful beaches – we have found one that is our favourite – the water is warm seemingly all the time and it is emptied by 7.30pm of daytrippers – leaving it to dogwalkers, sunset watchers and us :) This coastline was terribly hit in the Storm Xynthia, and many people are facing being forced out of their homes and holiday homes as it is now declared a “zone noir”. Maybe it was once in a lifetime that this storm happened clashing with a high tide, but traversty has struck. But as always life goes on and they will wait to see what happens next in the meantime repairs to the uplifted road to this beautiful beach are taking place so that we can enjoy special moments such as this!
