We took advantage of Naomi finishing school early and popped to our nearest local town to get some presents for my parents wedding anniversary, as it was so gloriously sunny we decided to go and have a look at the ever impressive Saint Hilaire Church which dominates the area it is placed…..Rob has been several times when he does undertaking duties for the local funeral company! Naomi has been with the school so it was the first time for me! IT is amazing although not heavily adorned as many churches it is is immense the high vaulted ceilngs are literally touching the sky and the plaster work is so beautiful with so many filigree effects and many different gargoyles to add to it….this is just one of the windows with the afternoon sun pouring in……..
The church was built and finished in the 11th and 12th century it was used as a stopover by Monks when they were journeying to Spain.
