TWO CHAIRS

I made two chairs, when you were small
One was pink the other white
They seemed just perfect, really right
You got them on a Christmas day
As you awoke the games to play
They stood by your beds with the rest of the toys
In a room filled with love and happy noise
The chairs were well used for many a year
With dollies and teddies and a few tantrum tears
As you grew older the chairs, they were left
In some dark cupboard, or attic chest
Till one day when you had gone
Two little girls much like you
Found the chairs in attic dark
Looking at the faded paint
They said to their Granddad
Quaint, they aint,.
