There’s a country called Freedom
By the edge of the sea
Its where I was born, its where I should be
Many years have passed since I last saw her shores
Her hills and her valleys are calling once more
Across the dark ocean, across the dark sea
Come home, come home, she’s calling to me
I love my new country, so bright and so fresh
Not grey and grimey, although its the best
I will return one day of that I am sure
To see her green mountains, her soft rolling mists
The faces of loved ones, who’s lips I have kissed
I will miss my new home, the bright warm sun
The blue Indian ocean where we had such fun
I know its a pity, I know its a shame
That I can’t live in both countries
But that’s the nature of things, the name of the game
Get ready to greet me as I step from the plane
As I rush to meet you a tear in my eye
We’ll laugh with happiness
Doesn’t time fly.
