MEMORIES

This is oor land so green and fair
Wae Loch Ness monster and tartan dolls
The shipyerds and the Paisley shawl
The castles grey, and banners bold
Wae people dying, fae the cauld
Loch lomond, wae its views supreme
The punters wae their Lottery dreams
The hameless families oan the street
Princes square, the place tae meet
The art galleries, the Glesca zoo
Wae people queuing at the broo,
Glesca green, and ;kick the can;
The rent collector, the provy man
The Glesca empire, the River Clyde
In places narrow in ithers wide
Worker on the shuggle caurs
A piece oan jam, the jellie jaurs
The Barras oan a Sunday wet
The bookies fur yer Faithers bet
A remember mair but it disna rhyme
I’ll dae it better anither time
