Artist's Description

Lake Eyre, normally a dry salt lake, is the largest ephemeral lake in the world. Its catchment basin covers one sixth of Australia. Every now and then it gets a bit of water …

After watching so many visitors passing through Leigh Creek to get a glimpse of the rare bit of water in this huge salt lake, I thought I might head up there myself to get a few shots. 300 odd kms of dirt road later, plus a stroll out through the mud to get to the water, here’s what I found.
