Weatherproof

I was a wooden doll
Sitting happily on my shelf
But then you came along
And claimed me for yourself

You played with me
You dressed me nice
Then you got bored
And i payed the price

You threw me away
All battered and bruised
Once you`d had your fun
I was weary and used

I lay on the floor
in pieces, so scared
You screamed at me
How you`d never cared

Then one by one
I put the pieces together again
promising to be strong
And to suffer no more pain

I am still a wooden doll
But i will stay on my shelf
I`ll be bought by no-one
I`ll take care of myself

This wooden doll is varnished now
To protect me from the weather
I have found the courage
To keep all my pieces together
