Prison of Love

I look down at you
From my flimsy tower
You
who tried to shatter it
into tiny pieces
never to be restored

But it was much too strong
for you to break

Now i stand inside
behind its walls
or on top
where i can get a better view
But not touch

I can watch you
While on top
or inside
my prison of love
where you cannot reach me

My walls are too strong
the tower too high
I will remain inside
Or above
Until
My wounds are healed

If you break through
one tiny crack
I will swiftly repair it
You will never reach
my heart again
through my strengthened walls
My barriers of common sense
and rationality

Your beams of love
will never penetrate
these layers
that i have built
over the years
you will never wound me anymore

Or tear down
my tower of safety

So i will watch
from my tower
as you stalk
and prowl
I will stand above
and glance down
as you try to climb up

But you will never reach me

Ever
