Rio del Malcanton
Venice, Italy
9.5 × 13 in
Vinyl paints on paper

The name Malcanton (seedy place) comes from is its narrow and dangerous docks, or the risk of attack that night there was once. Salsi Andrea claims that it derives its name from a historic early fourteenth century when Ramperto Polo, Bishop of Castello, requiring the pastor of San Pantaleone tithe into the deaths of the parish, was murdered here by the people.
