Pride and Prejudice Book Cover design. I've always thought it was kind of funny that Pride and Prejudice is always marketed as this big romance, don't get me wrong, I love Mr. Darcy as much as the next girl, but Elizabeth and Darcy's romance is such a secondary plot line compared to Lizzy's relationships with her family. Pride and Prejudice is as much (if not more) of a story about Elizabeth's love for her family, ridiculous as they may be, than it is a story about falling in love with someone you never expected. The scene that I feel shows Elizabeth's personality the most isn't one of the proposals or dances, but when she walked three miles from Longbourn to Netherfield to see her sick sister. Her love for Jane and determination to not let anything, least of all a little mud, get in between her and what she wants is shown most clearly in this scene, which is why I chose it for the book cover.
